"Moondance"
We are two families, each with
just one 18 year old daughter. Our girls have been taking a one-year break after
graduating
high school in June 2010 and we have been touring Europe on our barge before
they return to university in September 2011.
We started from St. Omer, pas de Calais, and are now at BRIARE, region du
Centre. It took us two months over the summer to slowly travel this distance. We
didn't hurry!
Briare is 5 hours by car from the channel ports. If you'd like to visit I can book you a pleasant local hotel 100 metres away from the boat. They charge 50 Euros a night double. Here's their website www.hotelducerf.com
Now we're settled for the winter and are making excursions by car to places that you can't get to by barge. We'll probably sell her before next summer, but if we don't then we'll use her again and put her back on the market in the autumn.
